The Senator representing Sokoto Central, Alhaji Aliyu Wamakko, says Nigerians need to be more patient and prayerful as there is still hope for the country.
Wamakko, who noted that President Muhammadu Buhari has good plans for Nigerians, urged them to have faith in the ability of his administration to turn the nation’s fortunes around.
He was speaking yesterday at the inauguration of campaigns of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the March 12 local government election in Sokoto.
He urged patience with the present administration which he noted had not been relenting in its effort to ensure a better Nigeria.
“The federal and Sokoto State governments have good intentions to revamp the agriculture and solid minerals sectors, among others,” he said.
Senator Wamakko commended the incumbent governor of the state, Aminu Tambuwal, for his initiatives in the state, adding that he has the interest of the people at heart.
In his remarks, Tambuwal listed education, health, agriculture , youths and women empowerment as the top focus of his administration.
He reiterated his earlier pledge to sustain all the legacies inherited from the past government and initiate new meaningful programmes and policies. The governor expressed optimism that the APC would emerge victorious in all the 23 local government areas.
