KADUNA ASSEMBLY A.P.C MEMBERS ENDORSE BUHARI – PRESS CONFERENCE

PRESS BRIEFING

30/9/14

KADUNA ASSEMBLY A.P.C MEMBERS ENDORSE BUHARI AS APC PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE 2015

Gentlemen of the press, it has become imperative we address you this morning in our collective resolve to chart a course for our great party APC, in a determined effort to set standards with a view to saving our father land.

As you are all aware, Nigeria is in dare need of leaders that will save it from the current state it found itself owing to the failure of the central establishment to do things by the book and the blatant abuse of procedure occasioned by endemic corruption, insecurity, persistent strike action by workers and academic staff unions of our academic institutions etc

Never in the history of this nation have we come close to a failed state as is presently experienced owing to the ineptitude of those charged with the responsibility of leading this great nation. We are aware that nations prosper when there is respect for the humanity of others, there are certain patronizing things you simply cannot do.  But there can be no respect from persons who do not consider themselves to be human beings in the first place, that is, who see themselves as lords, super humans or saints, who must be worshipped no matter how horrible their behaviours have been.  This leads to the second, recognition of human transience and the need to appreciate why legacies of accountability, responsibility and youth and people empowerment is better than anything we could think of!

History has it that when General Muhammad Buhari (GCFR) was the Military head of State Nigeria blossomed as a nation and discipline was restored and Nigeria was respected worldwide. We are all living witnesses to the fact that General Buhari made a difference in his life time in the life of this country – within permissible space that was allowed by the agent’s provocateurs. When His Excellency General Buhari (GCFR) and General Tunde Idiagbon (of blessed memory) took over power in 1983, most of my generation jubilated; especially when sanity was restored to national life, by example and by precept.  Even more significantly, we were more committed to the task of nation building.  Some of us are still there in the trenches. But some have sold out, and are worse than those they criticize!

Anyway, there is nothing I can tell members of the press that you do not already know about our leader; General Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR)  We must all appreciate the fact that General Buhari have ever since remained the point of departure from the general rot that is our beloved country.  Many are afraid of Buhari because they are beholden to corruption and greed.  Many adore Buhari because they believe he has the ability to turn things around.

It is for this and sundry reasons that we the undersigned members of the All Progressives Congress in the Kaduna State House of Assembly under my abled leadership deem it fit to unanimously adopt General Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) on behalf of ourselves and our respective constituencies as APC’s Presidential flag bearer in the 2015 general elections.

We hope others will follow suit as Nigeria is in dare need of visionary leaders that can heel it through a collectivist approach of governance occasioned by discipline and a sense of direction not mere opportunist.

Thank you,

Signed
